So yeah, another weekend, another train journey. Back the same route to old haunts, its the third weekend on the trot that I've been back. It's somewhat strange, as it's a reminder of the good times from the first few months of the year before things kind of went awry. I suppose the main point of this which I've been trying to get somewhere near in the previous few posts - hiding you're life away is no good thing.
Knowing who you are, liking yourself and being comfortable are very much the first step. But in my opinion you can't really stop there, or certainly I can't myself. So what happened? Well sometimes I listen to what people say to me in person too much (strangely I ignore advertising...). In the buildup to this I kept getting told it was time to sort my life and and give-up the things that were me, making me happy, and that money was the only thing that mattered. Not quite true and I suppose its this warning that gave me the shake up it has.
There's something to be said for listening to people, though sometimes you need to listen through what they say and judge it - what they think is best for you, may not actually be absolutely right. The time that I've had has allowed me to see what went on, but to quote Sufjan Stevens "I've made a lot of mistakes" - its a path everyone treads; you just hope that the opportunity to correct the mistakes presents itself again!
Just one more thing - I'd encourage anyone with access to the BBC to watch "Last Chance to See" - Stephen Fry presenting on the Douglas Adams book. Just started watching it and it promises to be absolutely excellent!
Waiting, a way of mooring and viewing the moon.
