Earworms Part X

An odd one this, its used (in this case) as the introduction to Part VI of this series. Its originally by Neil Young and is "After the Gold Rush", (first verse here). Somehow it always touches me and is something that I can't help but listen to on loop...

Seeing the Forest for the Trees...

Another photo from between Christmas and the New Year, taken in the New Forest. I wandered up a trail and just looked up and the woods seemed to go on and on. This photo makes me feel a little unbalanced, like I'm about to fall over. I think I took it as I quite liked the depth in the woods...

And...

And we’ve chosen to believe
All the things we’ve ever known
To see that the spring time is coming
To banish the feather-like snow

Sing three cheers for the demons
Soon with the chance to be returned
Gather up all of the ashes
Their journey moves on to the fall

We may know the reasons
Or dare to dream about them still
But one day they will all come home
And rest afore the war

Oh So Quiet...

A new photograph for the new year. Taken over Christmas at Emsworth Harbour in Hampshire at a fairly unfashionable hour of the morning. I sat on the boardwalk for a bit mesmerised with the birds sweeping over the small boats; then I managed to catch them in silhouette. A quiet and peaceful time.
